Twenty-three new municipal projects will receive a combined total of more than $1-million under the provincial government’s Targeted Sector Support Initiative.
Government Relations Minister Don McMorris explains that it’s for projects focused on good governance, capacity building and regional co-operation.
Funding is provided through cost-shared grants, covering up to 75 per cent of the eligible costs.
Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities President Ray Orb says he is pleased to see continued funding and uptake of this initiative.
Among the projects are a future regional community node study for Warman and regional emergency management plan development for North Battleford.
