There are a handful of electric vehicle charging stations in Saskatoon. Now, the City is looking to add two more through a pilot project.
City councillors and the Mayor will decide on whether or not to move ahead with the EV pilot which would see one EV charging station added at the Lawson Civic Centre and another installed at the Lakewood Civic Centre for a period of two years.
The environment and utilities committee is recommending no charge be required for the two years.
City staff say a few may have to be introduced after the two-year period to fund on-going operations.
The price tag associated with the pilot is between $17,200 and $22,800.
Council will debate the project during their regular business meeting this afternoon (mon).
