The Prairies will experience its third Colorado low in as many weeks when a storm hits this weekend. The WSA had already issued a flood warning for southeast Saskatchewan as concern mounts of any significant rainfall causing a sudden melting of the snowpack from the back to back snowstorms which hit the area.
There are weather watches and warnings already in place for Manitoba which will bear the brunt of this weather system.
The Weather Network is reporting that the weekend storm is in its formative stages across the southern Rockies and then the system will swing across the American Plains on Friday and its moisture will begin spilling across the border during the overnight hours.
The forecast at this point is indicating about a 30 per cent chance of rain in many locales including the southeast, the Weather Network has indicated steady rain will blanket southern Saskatchewan and Manitoba for much of the day on Saturday. We could see widespread totals of 20+ mm across these areas, with 30-50 mm possible in the hardest-hit areas.
