The highest ranking U.S. government official to visit Ukraine yet, landed there on the weekend.

Up to a thousand civilians are believed to be barricaded with an estimated 2,000 Ukrainian fighters at a steel plant in Maripol amid a destroyed city where as many as 100,000 people are still residing.
There is a luncheon being held Wednesday in Saskatoon where proceeds from tickets purchased will be directed towards helping purchase food, shelter, medical care and necessities to help Saskatoon’s sister city in Ukraine, Chernivtsi. The community has a population of about 260,000 but many Ukrainians from parts of the country under siege by Russia have moved into the area swelling its population by another 150,000 in just over a month.
There are three avenues for support: if someone wants to simply make a donation there is a GoFundMe page set up; if you want a receipted donation that can be coordinated through the website uniteforukraine.ca and of course money is being raised simply through the purchase of tickets to the luncheon. Those can also be purchased at the website as well.
