It was wet day throughout much of south central and southeast parts of the province Friday. A vast majority of communities in those parts of Saskatchewan were under a rainfall warning.
Total accumulations from 6 a.m. Friday morning to 6 a.m. Saturday for the Saskatoon area vary with the automated weather system reporting 11 millimetres, although volunteers on the east side of the city reported 22mm of rain.
That’s from Eric Dykes, a meteorologist with Environment Canada. He says Regina saw 20mm over the last day, although Dykes says reports on social media are indicating the Queen City saw upwards of 40mm in total from the system.
According to data from Environment Canada, Wynyard saw the most rain Friday with with 41.5 millimetres reported over the 24-hour period.
Stations in Last Mountain reported 32mm, Weyburn 16.1mm, Estevan 6.1mm and Yellowgrass reported 17.8mm.
Dykes says a number of recording stations recorded between 20 and 40mm of rain on Friday.
Other reports, not directly from Environment Canada are reporting some areas saw upwards of 50 millimetres Friday in the southeast corner.
