In their second weekly update, the Saskatchewan RCMP received 6,269 calls for service for the week of May 9th to the 15th at the Divisional Operational Communications Centre.
Last week, the RCMP began rolling out weekly reports as part of a new initiative. Saturday received the most calls for service with 1,133.
For the last week, there 166 assaults, 23 sexual assaults, 260 thefts and 101 break and enters reported.
The theft of catalytic converters has been a popular theme over the last few months. RCMP in Melfort received reports of stolen catalytic converters from eight vehicles parked on a property on MacDonald Avenue West on April 19th. The on April 27th, Melfort RCMP received a report of a theft from a business on Highway 3 in Birch Hills.
The investigation determined that between 6 p.m. on April 26th and 6:30 a.m. on April 27th that four catalytic converters from vehicles parked outside the business were taken. Police are continuing to investigate both incidents.
