The Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) has recently announced it is making all its washrooms gender inclusive.
So visiting the museum you will notice that the washrooms are not designated “men’s” or “women’s” but rather it will list the amenities available in that space.
In addition every washroom at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights will be available to people of any gender or gender expression.
All washrooms signage was changed at the end of this week to provide that description of the amenities available including including icons for toilets, urinals and adult or child change tables.
All washrooms will now have free menstrual products available as well. Future physical changes to the museum’s washrooms could include floor-to-ceiling privacy panels around toilets and urinals.
