The City is changing up its plans on how they want to go about an art project at Recovery Park which is currently being constructed at the Landfill.
Instead of seeking one lone artwork at Recovery Park, a facility that will allow residents to drop off items not intended for the Landfill, the City is looking at installing three pieces of art across Saskatoon with one still being installed at Recovery Park.
All three artworks would be interconnected in someway.
Lynne Lacroix, the City’s general manager of community services says the art is art is meant to enhance the design of the facility.
“Having three artworks at three locations will enhance the awareness of Recovery Park and broaden the City’s efforts in communicating the importance of environmental sustainability.”
The deadline for art submissions has been extended past the original April 26th deadline to accommodate the change.
The City is committing $275,000 dollars for the project along with an extra $35,000 just in case some more funding is needed.
Recovery Park is expected to open in 2023.
