A 42 year old Edmonton man is facing over 100 charges in connection to alleged mail theft, identity theft and identity fraud. The Regina Police Service was alerted the suspect was unlawfully at large from Alberta and conducted surveillance on him.
Officers report that 178 victims of mail theft or fraud were identified, and 102 charges were laid including 29 counts each of forgery and identity theft, along with 10 counts of personation with intent to obtain certain property, and two counts of identity fraud. Brad Waselenchuk appeared in Regina Provincial Court this morning (Fri).
The Police Service reminds everyone that mail theft should be reported, because it’s an easy way for personal information to be compromised, resulting in potential identity fraud.
