The Saskatchewan Health Authority budget for his fiscal year has been approved by the Board of Directors, with a $4.6-billion operating budget and a capital expenditure plan of almost $139-million. The budget includes $21.6-million to increase surgical volumes, $12.5-million to expand ICU beds , and $10.8-million to stabilize Emergency Medical Services.
SHA CEO Andrew Will says, “Given the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are eager to enhance accessibility and timeliness of key services for the residents of Saskatchewan through our Connected Care strategy and targeted initiatives.” It will include enhanced access to vital services like mental health and addictions supports, reducing surgical wait times and stabilizing rural and remote services.
As part of the budget plan, the SHA has re-established multi-year planning and budgeting for projects in the next fiscal year and equipment acquisition.
