The Saskatchewan Environmental Society and some volunteers helped to de-pave part of an old tennis court outside of Walter Murray Collegiate Saturday.
The work was in preparation of installing a garden at the decommissioned tennis court this upcoming Saturday.
Zoe Arnold with the Saskatchewan Environmental Society says since the tennis court wasn’t being used for its initial purpose, they were able to make an agreement with the public school board to de-pave a corner of the court for a garden.
“We’ve got a combination of perennial plants so there’s fruit trees, bushes, things like strawberries, we’re going to have prairie wildflowers and then annual vegetables as well”
