The Saskatchewan Heavy Construction Association welcomes Jeremy Cockrill to his new portfolio as the Minister of Highways. SHCA president Shantel Lipp also thanks former Minister Fred Bradshaw for his time served as the Minister.
Lipp points out that the heavy construction industry generates more than $5-billion in provincial GDP out of an economy of $73-billion, or roughly seven per cent of the total economy. She adds that the industry employs close to 30,000 workers, so the industry is one of the largest employers in the province. Lipp says, “We have a strong relationship with the government and the Ministry of Highways when it comes to advancing the issues and challenges that impact our members and industry and we want to keep that going.”
