The Saskatoon Police Service has made one arrest and seized loaded guns as well as a variety of drugs.
Last Thursday around 7 p.m. the Crime Reduction Team with assistance from the Tactical Support Unit, arrested a 39 year old man in the 400 block of Ludlow Street.
Police suspected he was trafficking in cocaine and meth and had access to firearms.
Police say a search of the individual led to the seizure of a loaded sawed off shotgun, more than 40 grams of cocaine, almost 12 grams of buff, just over 34 grams of cannabis, 85 hydromorphone pills and 80 – 100 mg morphine pills as well as numerous other pills, and items consistent with selling drugs.
That arrest led to a search warrant for a home in Waldheim where police then recovered a loaded .357 revolver and ammunition, a dismantled but functional bolt action rifle, firearm parts, various rounds of ammunition, soft body armour, and six cellular phones as well as items indicating drug trafficking like packaging and scales.
The 39-year-old man is charged with two counts each of Trafficking and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine and Methamphetamine), Possession of the Proceeds of Crime, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and numerous other drug and weapons related charges.
