Kelvin Jonathan McCallum has been sentenced in the death of his 21 month old son. On March 20th of 2019, Prince Albert Police and EMS responded to a downtown apartment building where a toddler was reported to be unconscious. He was transported to Victoria Hospital and later died.
After the autopsy, the boy’s death was considered a homicide and his father, Kelvin McCallum, was charged with second degree murder. Then last December, he pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
He is sentenced to six years, four months in jail. And now with enhanced credit for time served, it works out to about 17 months left in his sentence. McCallum is also under a firearms prohibition for life.
