It took five years to complete, but unionized Canadian Blood Services (C-B-S) workers in Saskatoon and Regina have voted to accept a tentative agreement with the C-B-S.
The workers, members of the S-E-I-U-West, had been frustrated with delays in bargaining and note that the process will be started again in a few months time. The agreement calls for wage increases over a six-year period, a signing bonus, increases to some expense reimbursement rates, increases to premiums for training and special assignments, scheduling gains and recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation as a statutory holiday.
