Five people have been charged in connection to a Meadow Lake RCMP investigation of kidnapping. On Monday, officers were told a female had been forced into a vehicle against her will, and while investigating RCMP received a report of a woman at a home in that community who was injured. Police say a group of people forced a woman into a vehicle and assaulted her. She was able to escape and was taken to hospital with injuries described as non life threatening.

A short time later, RCMP found the suspect vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. Police report the vehicle didn’t stop, but officers located the vehicle again a short time later, and it was stopped. Four people were arrested and there is a warrant for the arrest of 22 year old Kyla Cheenanow of Meadow Lake.

The charges for 35 year old Conrad Holowach of Arelee, 31 year old Tanya Desjarlais of Saskatoon and Cheenanow include kidnapping with intent and flight from police. Thirty year old Valanna Bell of Meadow Lake and 43 year old Lindsay Okemow of Saskatoon are charged with flight from police.

Kyla Cheenanow is described as 5’2″, 130 pounds with brown hair and eyes.
