While at the Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles, the Prime Minister and the President of the U.S. met and discussed everything from pandemic recovery and economic growth to Russia’s illegal military aggression against Ukraine. Justin Trudeau and Joe Biden noted the recent challenges with global energy markets and reiterated the importance of working together to strengthen Canada-U.S. energy security, and an opportunity for enhanced collaboration.
A news release from the Prime Minister’s Office says the leaders agree to continue cooperation on sanctions and on economic, humanitarian, military and other forms of assistance to Ukraine and its allies. Trudeau noted his commitment to supporting inclusive economic growth and pandemic recovery.
