The Saskatchewan Roughriders scored a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns to defeat the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 30-13 on Saturday evening at Mosaic Stadium.
The Green and White led 12-6 heading into the final frame before adding a 20 yard TD pass to receiver Kian Shaffer-Baker and a 1 yard TD run by quarterback Cody Fajardo. The Rider QB went 22 of 32 passing for 311 yards.
Saskatchewan kicker Brett Lauther went 5-for-5 on field goals to round out the scoring for the Riders. Hamilton’s only touchdown was a 71-yard hookup between Dane Evans and Steven Dunbar early in the fourth quarter.
Saskatchewan will take its 1-0 record this upcoming Saturday into Edmonton. The 0-1 Elks were blasted 59-15 on Saturday night by the BC Lions in Vancouver.
