Princess Alexandra School in Riversdale is hosting a closing ceremony and community walk tomorrow (tues) to honour the more than 60-year-old building and its place in the neighbourhood’s history.
A ceremony will be held starting at 10 a.m. with a walk planned to King George School starting at 11 o’clock.
Students, families, staff members and community supporters will gather to say farewell to the school.
The last day students will attend class for the final time is June 29th.
The site where Princess Alexandra currently stands will be where the new City Centre school is constructed which will see King George, Pleasant Hill and Princess Alexandra amalgamate into one new school.
The teardown of Princess Alexandra is expected to start in the fall.
The new school will hold up to 500 students.
