Southey RCMP says its detachment is investigating a report of a sexual assault involving a preteen child.

The alleged assault occurred the evening of June 9  in Govan when the victim was walking in the community and a man in a black truck approached her. The victim was then assaulted.

The suspect is described as about 28 to 30 years old and between 5’7″ and 5’10” with a medium build. He has dark brown or black hair and brown eyes with thick, bushy eyebrows. He also has yellowed teeth.

Sgt. Kim Stewart of the Southey RCMP says, “We don’t want to cause panic but do want to provide the public information about this incident so that they can take safety precautions and have conversations with young family members about it, as they deem appropriate.”
