The Saskatchewan government says the province’s economy continues to show incredible strength.
In April, the total value of wholesale trade in the province was more than $3.3 billion, an increase of 29.4 per cent between April of 20221 to April 2022. This is the highest increase among all provinces.
The top performing sectors the drove the year-over-year growth included farm products, up 26 per cent, food and beverage up 9 per cent and miscellaneous merchant wholesalers’ products up 70 per cent.
A recent report from Conference Board of Canada projects that Saskatchewan’s economy will lead the country with real GDP growth of 7.9 per cent in 2022, well above the national average of four per cent.
