The dangerous persons with firearms alert for La Ronge/Air Ronge has been cancelled.

RCMP say multiple individuals have been taken into custody but not the person in the photo (in this story) and police continue the search for that suspect.  As well his identity has not been confirmed and RCMP say the public should remain vigilant. The suspect is considered dangerous and should not be approached.

The civil emergency advisory was issued at 12:39 p.m. Sunday.

Shelter in place civil emergency in La Ronge and area as shots fired

No injuries were reported but RCMP says officers remain on scene and an increased police presence should be expected in the Air Ronge/La Ronge area.

The public is being advised that if anyone sees an individual matching the suspect should contact their local police service or RCMP immediately. In an emergency, the public should call 911.
