The RCMP are advising residents in La Ronge, Lac La Ronge and Air Ronge areas to seek immediate shelter or shelter in place, close and lock all doors and windows and not to leave their secure location.

RCMP say firearms are being discharged and they are seeking two men with handguns.  The alert was issued at 12:39 p.m. Sunday.

As well anyone travelling is advised to not pick up hitchhikers. If you’re operating a drone in the area, stop using it.

In the most recent update RCMP describe one suspect as a man with short dark hair, sides are shaved, wearing dark pants and a dark shirt with gold patterns down the sleeves and dark runners.  He was last seen on foot in the area of Far Reserve Road in Air Ronge with a possible sighting going north on Highway 2.

There is a police presence in the area of House 136 in Air Ronge where a second suspect is believed to be holed up.  A description of the second suspect is not available.
