North Battleford RCMP laid impaired driving charges among the more than 500 calls for service in the last week.
A 33 year old man is facing charges of impaired driving after the vehicle he was driving hit the median on Highway 4 in Battleford at 3 p.m. on Saturday. An RCMP member witnessed a woman loudly yelling an order at a drive-through menu on Railway Avenue East in North Battleford shortly before 7 in the morning on Saturday. RCMP say the driver had a blood alcohol level almost twice the legal level and a 21 year old woman is charged with Impaired Driving and Driving while Prohibited.
Meanwhile officers were called to an assault in the 1400 block of 109th Street on Tuesday where the victim told police that she had been assaulted and at one point was hit in the leg with a hammer. 34 year old Vernon Wahobin is in court today (weds) charged with Assault with a Weapon, Uttering Threats and Failing to Comply with a Release Order.
And a robbery report on the Moosomin First Nation ended with a man in his 40s being transported to hospital with an injured hand after he was assaulted with a machete. Police say they were told he’d given some individuals a ride and in addition to being injured, his vehicle was stolen. The vehicle was recovered later that evening and two suspects have been identified. The incident remains under investigation.
