North Battleford RCMP have charged a 45 year old man in the death of his mother.

On Wednesday afternoon North Battleford RCMP had issued an advisory for area residents to expect an increased police presence at a home in the 1500 block of 93rd Street in North Battleford.

RCMP now say they had received an injured person call at 11:55 a.m. and located a woman at the home. Officers and EMS responded and paramedics declared the victim deceased at the scene.

The victim is 72 year old Beatrice Geering.

The accused is Walter Geering. He is in court Friday to face one count of second degree murder.
