Between June 20th and the 26th, Saskatchewan RCMP received 7,313 calls for service, and the highest volume of calls was from last Saturday with 1,202. Those calls included 275 thefts and 38 were vehicle thefts., and 255 assaults.
There were also 255 assault reports. From that number, 203 were assaults, 48 were assaults with a weapon or causing bodily harm and four were aggravated assaults. The RCMP also logged 113 reports of harassment or uttering threats.
When it comes to traffic offences, the weekly RCMP report includes 137 impaired-related offences and 16 roadside suspensions. There were 1,382 incidents of speeding, which doesn’t include the automated speed enforcement fines.
The Saskatchewan RCMP’s weekly report says the increased police presence in La Ronge continues as police investigate a serious incident from June 19th, where a firearm was shot at officers, prompting a dangerous person alert to be issued. On June 22nd, officers from the Saskatoon Police Service and the Saskatchewan RCMP arrested Terrance Daigneault on warrants from 11 charges, including two counts of attempted murder.
Nikeyta Bradfield was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact to attempted murder with a firearm, and investigators are looking for 22 year old Celine Charles and 36 year old Sanderson of La Ronge. They are both wanted for obstruction. Sanderson is also charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm in a vehicle.
