The Saskatoon Police Service says the moose near Taylor Street and Ewert Avenue have been captured by Conservation Officers with the Ministry of Environment for later release at a safe location.
A caller to the Saskatoon Media Group newsroom says he spotted two moose on the loose when he was having his morning tea. Brian Kendall lives on Leyden Crescent just off Louise and Taylor Street and says he thought it was a dog and got up to get a better look realizing the hoofed mammal was far too large to be a dog. Then the first moose was joined by a second.
It was around 7:30 a.m. this morning that the police service notified the public about not approaching the moose or chasing the animals so as to not antagonize or startle them. November 4th last year a juvenile female moose plowed headfirst through a glass window and into a classroom at Sylvia Fedoruk School.
