The WHL will feature a full 68-game regular season, beginning Friday, September 23rd and concluding Sunday, March 26th.
The Saskatoon Blades and Prince Albert Raiders will kick things off with the traditional home-and-home series. The Raiders will be the hosts on the 23rd with the action moving to Saskatoon on the 24th.
A total of 585 games will be played on weekends or holidays, which works out to just under 80 per cent. The WHL says this will give players additional time for academics as well as hockey training and skill development.
