La Ronge RCMP tried to stop a stolen vehicle twice last Saturday, but on the second attempt, the vehicle drove into oncoming traffic, forcing the police vehicle into the ditch. This was on Highway 2 south of La Ronge. The officer wasn’t hurt.

Police report the vehicle continued toward the Dore Lake area where it came to a dead end. Officers set up roadblocks and the driver, a 22 year old woman who was the only one in the vehicle, was arrested without incident.

The charges for Dacey Corrigal of Prince Albert include possession of stolen property over $5,000, dangerous driving and flight from a police officer. Officers from Saskatchewan RCMP’s La Ronge, Prince Albert, Waskesiu, Meadow Lake and Big River Detachments, Tactical Support Group, Prince Albert Police Dog Services, and Emergency Response Team, as well as conservation officers with the Provincial Protective Services Branch assisted with this investigation.
