Some highlights from the Crown Sector annual report for the first year that ended in March include $1.6-billion in infrastructure investment and $327-million for the province’s General Revenue Fund. Consolidated net earnings from the Crowns came in at $361-million, which is almost $146-million higher than budgeted.
CIC also made a $177-million equity repayment, which was below target. The report says reinvestment, particularly at SaskTel and SaskPower, to maintain safe and high-quality services was prioritizes over meeting the repayment target. The Crown Investments Corporation is the holding company for the commercial Crown Corporations.
