A Humboldt company has pleaded guilty to a violation under the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations resulting in a fine of over $57,000 and a surcharge of almost $23,000. On May 11th of 2020, a worker was seriously injured when an oil barrel exploded.
Brockman Enterprised pleaded guilty to not having the processes in place for the safe use, handling, storage and transport of articles and substances, resulting in the serious injury of a worker.
OHS says employers are required to provide safe and health workplaces, and must provide information, training and experience necessary for employees to pefform their jobs safely.
