Saturday’s severe thunderstorm warning in Saskatoon only lasted about an hour but it brought strong winds, rain and hail to parts of the north end.
Videos posted to social media showed shoppers at the northend Costco over the 11 o’clock Saturday morning who were about to walk back to their vehicles but were stopped by the storm as debris, hail and rain fell over the parking lot.
Dark clouds formed west of the city around 10:30 and that’s when the warning was issued. The system then made it’s way northeast towards Martensville and Warman.
The storm follows up a very active Friday in Saskatchewan that saw four tornadoes touchdown. Three near Paynton, Saskatchewan and another near Blaine Lake.
