Today (mon) the FSIN and Saskatoon Police Service provided an update on a missing mother and her son saying the pick-up truck Dawn Walker is believed to have been driving was found at Chief Whitecap Park just south of Saskatoon around 9 a.m. this morning.
Police say personal belongings and evidence of recreational activity were also located at the scene. A passerby in the same area found Dawn’s purse Saturday morning and turned it in to the RCMP.
Saskatoon Police received a report of a missing person at 9:45 p.m. Sunday night after friends had become concerned because they hadn’t heard from Dawn recently.
Forty-eight year old Dawn Walker is described as 5’5″ tall, medium build, blond hair, brown eyes. Her six year old son Vincent Jansen is described as 4’2″ tall, slim build, brown hair and brown eyes. Dawn Walker was last seen on July 22 at 6:00 p.m. at a business on the 300 block of Owen Manor in Saskatoon.
At this time the Saskatoon Police Service is coordinating efforts to do a search of the South Saskatchewan River which will include the Air Support Unit. Police are asking the public to stay away from Chief Whitecap Park so they can conduct their investigation and anyone who may have seen Dawn or Vincent is asked to contact the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300.
