Hudson Bay RCMP issued a news release Saturday afternoon saying the body of 5-year-old Dawson Romeo who was last seen Friday evening around 7:15 p.m. had been found.

The five-year-old boy who police say had autism was reported to be heading west about five kilometres southwest of Hudson Bay with the closest intersection being Township Road 450 and Range Road 2041.

Authorities say his body was found Saturday near the area where he went missing. Police add the death is not suspicious. The RCMP would like to thank local residents, community groups and organizations who helped with the search.
