The City of Saskatoon is inviting local emerging and established poets to submit poems for a new project.
The theme for the Poetry Downtown Project is Reconciliation.
In a news release, the City of Saskatoon says the Poetry Downtown project was inspired by a challenge from Parliamentary Poet Laureate of Canada, Louise Halfe to encourage municipalities to bring poetry to public places.
Ten poems will be selected and displayed on 28″ x 48″ posters in the directory boxes along 3rd Avenue. Poems may be between 10 and 20 lines with the work being displayed from October 1st to May 31st of next year.
The deadline for applications is September 6th. More information can be found on the City’s website.
