During the early hours of Tuesday (August 2), Saskatchewan had multiple area’s receive thunderstorm activity.
Thunderstorms moved through different areas of the province last night between 1:00am and 6:00am. The southern parts of the province, Unity and Saskatoon received 16-20mm of rain, while the northern part of the province up near Meadow Lake received 20-40mm of rain.
Environment Canada only received a couple reports of pea size hail and embedded hail in areas, but says it wasn’t anything substantial.
For this afternoon, Environment Canada says there is isolated thunderstorm activity in Lloydminster, Saskatoon and Swift Current. Meanwhile, eastern Saskatchewan will have severe storm watch in effect as Regina and Yorkton can expect wind gusts up to 90 km/h with 2-4 cm hail.
Sunday July 31 weather update: Environment Canada reported that no Tornados touched down in the province.
