In the early morning hours on July 27th, RCMP responded to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 12, just south of Blaine Lake. Police report the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was declared dead at the scene. The family of the 22 year old woman from Blaine Lake has been notified. RCMP continue to investigate, with the assistance of a collision reconstructionist.

Around 2 in the afternoon on Sunday, July 31st, Lanigan RCMP responded to a two-vehicle accident west of Lanigan on Highway 16. The driver of the first SUV, a man from the Wilkie area, was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman who was his passenger and the man driving the second SUV were transported to hospital with unknown injuries. The highway was fully blocked for several hours while RCMP completed their on-scene investigation. Police say the investigation into the cause of the accident continues by Lanigan RCMP and RCMP Collision Reconstruction.
