A caller to the Saskatoon Media Group newsroom Saturday said there was quite the commotion at Kinsmen Park when the ferris wheel got stuck.
Fire and ambulance were on scene which included a ladder truck. City of Saskatoon officials say one of the two tires that propels the ferris wheel went flat consequently they had to halt the ride and unload passengers. The ladder truck did not have to be used to get anyone down.
There were 15 individuals on the ride at the time. With the assistance of the ride technician and the Saskatoon Fire Department all riders were brought down from the ferris wheel pods to the ground “without injury or distress”.
