Police have charged 36-year-old Kerry Lynn Keewatin of Regina with abduction of a person under the age of 16, kidnapping and failing to comply with condition of a release order.
The Regina Police Service says it was called to a residence early Sunday morning in connection with a report of a woman attempting to remove her two-year-old son. The woman was under a court order not to have contact with a person living in the residence.
Police later learned the mother and son had been at Regina General Hospital but left on foot after raising suspicion among staff. Police continued the investigation until it was determined that the case qualified to be an Amber Alert. The notification was issued at 3:40pm and the woman and child were located at a Regina resident at 5:36pm. Police indicate the pair were found as a direct result of information from the public.
Keewatin made her first court appearance on Monday afternoon.
