Regina Police say a 31-year man is facing numerous charges after assaulting police officers with bear spray.

The incident happened early Tuesday morning when police saw three males walking down Saskatchewan Drive at around 2:30.

One of the men allegedly had a baseball bat and another had an open can of beer. One of the men falsely identified himself by giving the name of another person. When confronted, the man ran away and it’s alleged he sprayed officers with bear spray that he pulled from waistband.

The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. Jorden Ross-Briltz appeared in court Tuesday afternoon.
