On its website, Forest Grove Community Church says it has terminated its lease contract with Grace Christian School, because of allegations of physical, sexual and psychological abuse at the former Christian Centre Academy, now called Legacy Christian Academy, located on Pinehouse Drive in Saskatoon.
Last week, the province announced it was appointing a private administrator for three schools which have staff from the Christian Centre Academy who have been named by former students. They are Grace Christian School, Legacy Christian Academy and Regent Academy in Prince Albert. A class action lawsuit from some former students was launched earlier this month and complaints have been filed with the Saskatoon Police Service. Police have presented the file to Crown prosecutors to consider possible charges.
The Forest Grove Community Church’s website says its operations staff and church leadership have reviewed the rental agreement with Grace Capstone Ministries and have made the decision to terminate our lease contract with Grace Christian School effective this September. “We are grieved for the students and families that will be affected and did not make this decision lightly.”
The Legacy Christian Academy issued a statement earlier this month saying, “The current staff and leadership are hearing some of these stories for the first time and we condemn any acts of abuse that previous leaders committed.” The attached church at the Christian Centre Academy was called Saskatoon Christian Centre Church and is now called Mile Two Church.
