Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP had a busy morning last Friday. Shortly after 6 a.m., officers responded to a report of a boat floating along the north shore of Echo Lake with no one in it.
The Fort Qu’Appelle Fire Department recovered the boat. A few hours later, the owner of the boat called the police to report it stolen.
The description provided matched that of the recovered boat and arrangements were made to have the owner pick it up.
Shortly after 6:30 that morning, Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP responded to a number of reports indicating there were 50 plus bison and calves on the loose and were crossing Highway 10. Two officers responded and the owner of the bison was already there and were starting to be guided back to their nearby pasture. No collisions were reported to the RCMP.
A 71-year-old male driver is dead following an early morning rollover on Highway 17, about two miles east of the Sask River Bridge near Maidstone on August 22nd.
In the RCMP’s weekly report, authorities say the passenger of the truck, a 63-year-old male was transported to hospital for treatment of injuries.
The cause of the accident is being investigated.
