The Meewasin Valley Authority is looking to add another trail counter along the southwest portion of the trail between the Gordie Howe Bridge and the Water Treatment Plant. CEO of the MVA, Andrea Lafond says the new counter will provide another opportunity for folks to help sponsor Meewasin. “This is an additional opportunity for folks to donate and sponsor in Meewasin, it’s a relatively new amenity, so aside from the bricks and the benches and trees, no folks can sponsor the digital trail counter.” Lafond hopes they have the new trail counter installed by the fall.

The Diana Sproat Memorial Counter was installed during the spring of 2021 by the Sid Buckwold Bridge at River Landing. The new digital counters will tally both pedestrians and cyclists.
