A 22-year-old man is facing a number of charges following a barricaded person incident on Avenue W South Wednesday afternoon.

Police say they’ve made an arrest and the man is facing several firearms-related charges including pointing a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a prohibited firearm.

Around 1:15 on Wednesday, officers observed a man pointing a firearm at a vehicle nearby. He retreated into a home which is when the Tactical Support Unit and Crisis Negotiation Team responded to the location.

Around 2 o’clock that afternoon, the man exited the home and was taken into custody without further incident. A search of the home recovered a sawed off rifle and ammunition.
