The Tribal Chief of the Saskatoon Tribal Council calls the fatal stabbings at James Smith Cree Nation and in Weldon unfathomable acts of violence. Mark Arcand says the STC wants to help. A number of affected families are in Saskatoon, so the STC has mobilized teams of care givers including mental health support, medical professionals and financial aid for these victims and their families in the city.

For those wanting to donate, items such as clothing, toys and hygiene products can be dropped off at the White Buffalo Youth Lodge on 20th Street West. Arcand says, “This weekend was one of the darkest in the history of our province and people. We are here to do whatever we can for the families that have been affected by these tragedies”.
