Saskatchewan New Democrats have panned the provincial government’s aggressive, four-point health human resources action plan.
Health Critic Vicki Mowat says the plan, presented Wednesday morning, fails to address the widening gaps in the province’s healthcare system, adding that the government plan is old news. Mowat also says the government’s goal of adding over 1,000 professionals to the healthcare system over the next two years is still 500 jobs short of what is needed. The New Democrats also say that of the 26 measures announced today, only 14 are new initiatives. Mowat points to the development and implementation of aggressive recruitment and retention strategies in Ontario and B-C having been started several months ago.
