Pierre Poilievre is the new leader of the federal Conservative Party after a landslide win.
The ballots released last night (sat) in Ottawa show he won nearly all of Canada’s 338 ridings, including most of the ridings in Quebec.
Poilievre will now have nine days to decide who will fill the party’s critic roles before the House of Commons resumes on Tuesday, September 20th.
The Conservative caucus is expected to meet tomorrow (mon) to discuss their priorities for the fall session.
The long-time MP won the election securing 22,993 of the just under 33,800 electoral points up for grabs.
Jean Charest, Leslyn Lewis, Roman Baber, and Scott Aitchison were the other candidates vying for the Conservative Party leadership.
