CIBC has announced a donation of $30,000 to the James Smith Cree Nation in response to the stabbing attacks on September 4th in that community and in Weldon. The financial institution says funds will support the immediate needs of the families directly impacted.

A news release from CIBC adds that STARS will receive $20,000. STARS’ crews provided critical care to the injured while on route to hospitals throughout the province.

Spokesperson for CIBC, Stephen Forbes says, “We stand united with our clients, team members and communities impacted by the devastating tragedy in James Smith Cree Nation. Our thought are with the families and friends who lost loved ones and those injured.”
