Even a pre-season game isn’t boring at the Art Hauser Centre when the Saskatoon Blades meet the Prince Albert Raiders.
Lukas Hansen swatted a thigh-high puck out of mid-air and through the legs of Tikhon Chaika for the winning goal at 1:15 of overtime to give the Bridge City Bunch a 4-3 victory over P-A Friday. All seven goals were scored into the net in the West end of the rink with the Blue and Gold scoring three times in the second period in addition to Hansen’s O-T winner, while the Raiders tallied once in the first period and twice in the third frame to force extra time. Trevor Wong, Vaughn Watterodt and Spencer Shugrue also tallied for the Blades, now 3-1-0 in the pre-season. Defencemen Justice Christensen with two and Trevor Thurston replied for 2-1-1 Prince Albert. The teams meet again Saturday night at The Legends Centre in Warman with a 7 o’clock first face-off.
