Six different players were in the line-up Saturday compared to the previous Saturday and they were all positive additions as the Saskatoon Blades bounced the visiting Swift Current Broncos 8-3.
Josh Pillar opened the scoring, Jayden Wiens had a goal and an assist, Egor Sidorov returned from a one-game injury absence with the game-winning goal and a helper, Conner Roulette made his Bridge City Bunch debut with a pair of assists while recently-acquired defenceman Blake Gustafson chipped in a helper and was +3 as the Blue and Gold improved to 3-0-0 for the seventh time in franchise history. A crowd of 3,119 at SaskTel Centre saw the Blades score six straight goals to snap a 1-1 tie and win their sixth straight home game over Swift Current. Justin Lies (pictured) had a goal and two assists, captain Aidan De La Gorgendiere and Trevor Wong matched the one goal, one assist output of Wiens and Sidorov as Saskatoon had eight different goal-scorers and 14 of 18 skaters recorded at least one point. The Bridge City Bunch out-shot the 1-3-0 Broncos 43-27. The Blue and Gold will try to make it four straight wins to start the season when they welcome Lethbridge to SaskTel Centre on Tuesday.
